The parish of Thurcaston originally included the villages of Thurcaston,  Anstey and Cropston.   Anstey had its own chapel, which was demolished and rebuilt in the mid 19th century.  It became a parish in its own right in 1866.

The parish is now called Thurcaston with Cropston and once again shares a Rector with Anstey.
