Welcome to the website of the Local History Society for the parish of Thurcaston and Cropston, in the Charnwood area of Leicestershire.

We set up the site in August 2016 and over the next few months will be adding content about -

  • our society - our programme of events and publications
  • the history of our two villages
  • transcriptions of parish records and census data for family historians.

Where we meet

Thurcaston church

The Harrison Room at All Saints' Church, Anstey Lane, Thurcaston.

Enter the churchyard, but do not go to the main church entrance.   Take the path on the right which goes in front of the church and follow it round to the door of the Harrison Room.
